What is Involved in a Soil Evaluation?
How Can HPC Help?

HPC has Professional Soil Classifiers on staff that can simplify the permitting process by conducting a site and soil evaluation in a timely manner. They have years of experience in soil classification, soil-landscape evaluation and interpreting soil hydrology. They are also versed on current regulations related to on-site sewage disposal and will handle all "One Call" requirements. HPC can simplify the permitting process by working directly with a design engineer or contractor. HPC has competitive soil evaluations rates for both single units and complete subdivisions.

Septic Drainage Field Siting Evaluation
Background

A soil evaluation is the most important factor in determining if an on-site septic system will work. Without professional soil evaluations, many septic systems perform poorly, have increased maintenance costs, or fail completely.

In response to the increased number of problems with on-site systems, some counties (such as Burleigh and Cass) have adopted a portion of the North Dakota Plumbers' Code requiring soil characterization as part of the septic system design before construction permits are issued. By state law, only registered North Dakota Professional Soil Classifiers are authorized to characterize soil and its hydric features.
